Tetsuya Nomura, famous for being the character designer of various Square-Enix games such as the ever popular Final Fantasy series, drew Miku Hatsune to look more real which is a step away from Miku’s usual moe appeal. The result was for me was really awesome.
With Miku now looking more human-like, Miku Hatsune is now one step closer to Sharon Apple. Perhaps in the future, everybody around the world would be open to the idea of a virtual songstress just like in Macross Plus.
I’ve just rewatched Perfect Blue and boy, I am still blown away even though I’ve watched it years ago. Satoshi Kon really did a good job on this film. Perfrct Blue is a film worthy of many praises. Satoshi Kon’s exploration of the modern Japanese society and to a degree, human society and its folly are so brutally real that it is so fantastic. He really did a good job of exploring the culture and reality of Japanese show business.
I’ve wanted to compare Satoshi Kon’s observation of Japanese show business with my observation of the Japanese show business, focusing on the idol industry and it turns out that we have the same sentiments. Continue reading →
I initially watched Macross Plus because of I was trying to get my hands on every macross that I could find and I was at the height of my Macross addiction. Needless to say, I was already introduced to what would become one of my greatest anime influences.
I would like to write about my top 5 anime characters and why I chose them.
We all have our favorite anime characters, both you and I and we’re drawn to them for a few reasons. It could be because of the sheer awesomeness that they exude such as Kamina Ayato of Guren Langann and Kenshiro of Fist of the North Star, or it could be because of the respect that they command such as Char Aznable of Gundam or it could be because of the mental genius and the complexities that they exhibit such as Lelouch Lamperouge of Code Geass and Light Yagami of Death Note or its could be a combination of the mentioned reasons.
